The essential principles the Cabinet acts upon are :
- Independance : it guarantees the individual client or firm that the consultation will never be given according to whatever personal or outsider’s interest.
- Professional Confidence. It binds the lawyer to her clients in every circunstance : no one can make her reveal whatever was entrusted to her as past of their exchanges.
- Secrecy. It covers all the modes of communication, either verbal or written, between lawyers.
Necessary to the process of negociation it enables not to juridiciarize a conflict when it turns out to be possible and desirable.
- Loyalty. During exchanges between colleagues, it allows an open debate, a guarantee for an equitable trial and well balanced negociations.
- The rule of the conflict of interests. It implies that no lawyer can recommend, attend or represent parties whose interests could be opposed.
